Network discovery
Scan subnets, find unmanaged devices, and optionally remote-install agents.
Discovery helps you find devices on client networks that do not yet have an agent. Available on Growth+ and Internal IT workspaces.
Setup overview
- Install an agent on an always-on Windows PC on the target LAN (a domain controller is ideal).
- Create a discovery profile under Discovery with subnets, credentials, and scan mode.
- Run the profile and review discovered hosts.
- Optionally push agent install to domain-joined Windows targets.
Credentials & WinRM
Save domain admin credentials on the profile and use Test credentialsagainst a known IP. Targets need WinRM/WMI reachable from the probe (port 5985). Workgroup PCs appear as view-only unless you disable "Require domain joined".
Scan modes
- Hybrid — tries Nmap host discovery, then ping fallback. Install Nmap on the probe if ICMP is blocked.
- Enable SNMP on the profile to identify printers and network gear.
- Subnets up to /20 (~4096 hosts) are supported.
MSP
For MSP workspaces
Create one profile per client site or subnet range. Discovery results are scoped to the managed client assigned to the probe agent.
Internal IT
For Internal IT workspaces
Profiles apply to your organisation's fleet. Use discovery after office expansions or VLAN changes to find shadow IT.
